We're diving head-first into editing, PR image creation, and sound file organization. Dialogue, sound effects, and score are being sorted into separate folders, and in about three to four weeks, we'll start cleaning up these files and setting levels.
Color Correction Challenges
Color correction is a beast, especially with special effects. I've found a video by a top-notch color correction expert that showcases the intricacies of this process. I've learned the hard way that you don't want to invest all that time and passion into writing, directing, building, and editing, only to have your project fall flat due to poor color output. PR Image Development
We're currently crafting PR images for TRYHARD COMPANY, with around 60-70 Photoshop images in various stages of completion. We'll finalize fonts, add characters, and narrow it down to about 20 key images for posters, websites, and promotional materials. You'll get to vote on your favorite designs! Behind-the-Scenes: Ultra Low Budget Filmmaking
I want to give you a peek into the challenges and triumphs of working on an ultra low budget film project – anything under $1 million is considered ultra low budget, and Hollywood typically allocates $3-20 million for independent films. When you're working with limited funds, you have to be creative with your resources. For TRYHARD COMPANY, I was able to build around 80% of the sets, but I knew I'd have to get resourceful with the remaining scenes.
Drawing Inspiration from the Masters
I drew inspiration from Orson Welles' Citizen Kane, where he used miniatures and plates to create stunning visuals. I waited until filming was complete and then started building miniature sets and using plate systems to enhance the sci-fi elements. With advancements in technology, like magnetic masking, it's become easier to insert actors into these sets.
Building Miniature Sets
Check out the video below, showcasing fantastic work by a talented builder. I'm aiming for similar quality with my sets. You'll notice in the teaser trailers that some of these sets are already being incorporated. Think back on the teaser trailer - the scene with the actress Myretta - with Gian round red door - that set will be all miniature - I can’t wait for you to see that when it’s finished! I’m excited to share these behind-the-scenes moments with you.
The Process
I've already completed four miniature sets, and I have a few more to go. Each episode will feature at least one of these sets, with the final episode having two. It's a time-consuming process, but I'm loving the results.
A Future Documentary
Once the project is complete, I'll be sharing a documentary on how I made it happen, including some of the tricks and techniques I used to overcome budget constraints.

The way Spielberg uses mirrors, interesting shots, and the iconic zoom-in-on-the-face technique is pure genius. I've stolen that trick for my own projects, and it never fails to deliver. Dennis Weaver's performance is equally impressive, bringing a sense of dread and nervousness that's palpable.

I've watched Duel multiple times, and I'm still blown away by the acting, direction, and overall craftsmanship. Dennis Weaver's performance is one of the greatest I've ever seen, and Spielberg's direction is flawless. This movie deserves to be celebrated, and I always recommend it to fellow film enthusiasts.
